Keeping Clean with Erosion & Sediment Control

Keeping Clean with Erosion & Sediment Control

Erosion and sediment control can be unsettling issues for your project. The specialists at Burns & McDonnell understand the complicated compliance issues you face.

When it comes to compliance, we can keep you clean.

Getting the Best of Dirt

Since first required in 1992, Burns & McDonnell has prepared Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and associated National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting for development projects nationwide.

In 2003, Phase II of EPA's NPDES program began regulating stormwater discharge from smaller construction sites — projects disturbing one or more acres.

The SWPPP identifies Best Management Practices to control the erosion process and reduce sediment discharge off-site. A SWPPP must be developed before site vegetation is removed or disturbed and before a permit can be issued.

With certified erosion and sediment control professionals and certified professional soil scientists on staff, we also provide clients with stormwater management training and expert testimony.
