  • Wetland preliminary determination
  • Wetland delineation
  • Wetland permitting
  • Development of GIS geodatabases

Wetland preliminary determinations were conducted to rapidly assess whether wetlands were likely to be present at project sites. For wetland preliminary determinations, Burns & McDonnell conducted abbreviated on-site surveys. On-site photographs were taken, figures displaying the locations of potential waters of the U.S. were created, and geodatabases compatible with ArcGIS were developed and provided to NDOR for planning purposes.

For the wetland delineation surveys, Burns & McDonnell reviewed existing background data for the area before conducting the on-site survey for wetlands. The wetland delineations were conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual, the 2010 Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Midwest Region and Great Plains Region, and guidance provided by NDOR.

Wetland delineation reports were prepared for each of these projects in accordance with specific NDOR guidance and Section 404 Permit application packages were prepared and submitted to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to request issuance of a Nationwide Permit 14, where necessary. Additionally, geodatabases, compatible with ArcGIS, were developed and provided to NDOR for planning purposes.
