Plating Facility Renovation

Plating Facility Renovation

Location: Oklahoma City

Client: Tinker Air Force Base

Burns & McDonnell was selected to provide design-build services to renovate one-third of the plating shop within the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base.

The project included demolition of the existing gallery floor slab, provision of new plating tanks and equipment, new industrial ventilation equipment and scrubbers, new wastewater pretreatment equipment, renovation of existing makeup air units and associated structural work for equipment support and location flexibility.

The demolition and construction, within the confines of the renovation project, was phased in order to minimize the impact of existing operations within the facility.
