Client: PacifiCorp

Completion Date: Ongoing

Burns & McDonnell is performing a system analysis of approximately 1,000 circuit miles of transmission lines greater than 100 kilovolts (kV) for PacifiCorp. LiDAR data will be used to develop computerized models of each line with an accurate representation of survey conditions. The models will be used to perform a thermal rating assessment for each line at both National Electrical Safety Code and PacifiCorp clearance requirements and to develop a summary of results showing any points of interest. Burns & McDonnell will execute the engineering analysis of PacifiCorp's high-, medium- and low-priority lines for the NERC response.

Watershed Sciences Inc. in Portland, Ore., is the subcontractor for all the 2011 high-priority LiDAR needs. Burns & McDonnell will also execute mitigation engineering on circuits that report points of interest for high-, medium- and low-priority lines.
