Iowa Wind Energy Acquisition

Location: Iowa

Client: Wisconsin Public Service Corp.

Burns & McDonnell is assisting the Wisconsin Public Service Corp. (WPSC) with a due diligence effort for acquiring a 99-megawatt (MW) wind farm under development by a third party. The due diligence is for a site area of approximately 22,000 acres (34 square miles) and includes the review of environmental resources and potential constraints, permitting and potential study requirements and document review. In addition to the environmental resources, airports and public recreation areas are also being reviewed. The due diligence will be used by WPSC to determine risks or constraints that could be encountered if the project is acquired. Burns & McDonnell is also assisting with the preparation of the Certificate of Authority (CA) application that is required by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) before WPSC can acquire and operate the project.
