Hoosier Energy NERC Compliance

Location: Indiana

Client: Hoosier Energy

Completion Date: Ongoing

Hoosier Energy retained Burns & McDonnell to perform a system analysis of approximately 300 circuit miles of transmission lines greater than 100 kilovolts (kV). LiDAR-based PLS-CADD models will be used to perform a thermal rating assessment for each line at both National Electrical Safety Code and Hoosier Energy clearance requirements and to develop a summary of results showing any points of interest. Burns & McDonnell will execute the engineering analysis of Hoosier's medium- and low-priority lines for the NERC response.

GeoDigital International Inc. in Ontario, Canada, is the subcontractor for LiDAR needs. Burns & McDonnell is also under contract to execute mitigation engineering on circuits that report points of interest for medium- and low-priority lines.
