The Hamakua Cogen Facility project is located on the Big Island of Hawaii. This was a joint venture EPC merchant power plant project with an extremely short, aggressive schedule.

With the exception of the fiber optic termination/multiplexing equipment and the RTU, which were furnished and installed by HELCO, all equipment, structures and materials were furnished and installed by the joint venture. Ownership of the substation and transmission lines was transferred to HELCO at energization.
