Burns & McDonnell designed a Controlled Industrial Facility (CIF) at Naval Submarine Base New London (SUBASE). The CIF performs maintenance and repair services required for nuclear-powered submarines homeported at SUBASE New London. 

Close coordination of building technical requirements and equipment interface requirements were necessary throughout the project. Concrete testing was required for radon content and structural criteria to determine qualified suppliers.
