Burns & McDonnell managed the wetland permitting and cultural resources studies for the Blue Canyon Wind Power VI project in Caddo County, Okla. Burns & McDonnell prepared a wetland delineation report and cultural resources report upon completion of the field studies and coordinated correspondence with state and federal agencies. Burns & McDonnell noise specialists provided consulting services and modeling.

The 99-megawatt wind farm project consists of 55 wind turbine generators, approximately 13 miles of access roads, approximately 16 miles of underground and/or overhead 34.5 kilovolt (kV) electrical collection system, a step-up substation, an interconnect substation, connection of an existing 345-kV overhead electrical transmission system, two hub-height, free-standing meteorological towers, one microwave communication tower, one laydown yard, and the expansion of an existing operations and maintenance facility.

Corridors based on the preliminary project facility locations were surveyed for potential wetlands and cultural resources sites. Burns & McDonnell prepared a wetland delineation report and cultural resources report upon completion of the field studies and is coordinating with state and federal agencies.
