The 45th North American Power Symposium (NAPS) will be hosted by Kansas State University. NAPS moves to a different North American university each year and provides an open forum for participants from academia and industry to exchange innovative ideas and solutions. NAPS has a long-held tradition of encouraging student-presented papers and recognizing student efforts through awards at the end of the symposium. Papers on analytical, computational and experimental studies aimed at solving problems related to operation, control, monitoring, protection and reliability, as well as economics of power and energy systems and components, are welcome.

Mike Beehler, vice president and principal of Burns & McDonnell, will be the keynote speaker at the opening session on Sept. 23, addressing the power and energy systems of 2025, providing a crystal ball vision of what utility systems may look like for business and consumers and what skills future graduates will need to be engaged in the field.
