Description

The fifth joint conference of the Kansas Water Environment Association and the Kansas Section of the American Water Works Association will offer a diverse range of technical presentations on the latest topics in water and wastewater. Learn about new developments in the industry, new advances in equipment and controls, and recent regulatory updates, as well as sharing successes and discussing solutions to the many challenges in the industry.

Several Burns & McDonnell professionals will be presenting at the conference:

  • Ty McGown, senior chemical engineer in the Water group, will present on "Startup and Testing of a 25 MGD Membrane WTP" on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 1:30 p.m. in the Osage room.
  • Jeff Keller, project manager in the Water group, will present on "The Benefits of Working Together: Intermunicipal Design‐Build" on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 2:15 p.m. in the Walnut room.
  • Jacob White, senior environmental engineer, will present on "Groundwater Treatment in Mulvane: Greensand and RO" on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 3:30 p.m. in the Oak room.
  • Rachel Thompson, assistant environmental engineer, will present on "Cost‐Effective Evaluation of Taste and Odor Removal Techniques" on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 11:15 a.m. in the Maple room.
  • Eldon Schneider, environmental engineer in the Water group, will present on "Design‐Build Solutions at the City of Mulvane WWTP" on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 1:30 p.m. in the exhibit hall (Tent A).
  • Brittany Rittenbacher, assistant environmental engineer, will present on "Zebra Mussel Control Strategies: Protecting Drinking Water Infrastructure" on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the exhibit hall.
  • Daniel Clement, assistant hydrogeologist in the Environmental group, will present on "Reservoir Releases in Support of Municipal Water Supply" on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 4:15 p.m. in the exhibit hall.
  • Nathan Dunahee, associate environmental engineer in the Water gorup, will present on "Evaluating Chlorine Disinfection Byproduct Reduction Strategies: Atchison, KS Case Study" on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 4:15 p.m. in the Cedar room.
  • Mike O'Connell, project manager in the Water group, will present on "You're Building That Where? Experience with a New Pump Station" on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 8 a.m. in the Osage room.
  • Ryan Scott, senior environmental engineer in the Water group, will present on "Unidirectional System Issues" on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m. in the Osage room.
  • Jeff Klein, project manager in the Water group, will present on "Water System Survival Guide: Balancing Current and Future Needs" on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11:30 a.m. in the Osage room.
