At Burns & McDonnell, we recognize the importance of caring for both mind and body. Time off enables employee-owners to re-energize themselves and refocus their efforts, allowing them to do more to meet our clients' needs. Wellness programs and educational sessions equip our employee-owners with the knowledge they need to make healthier decisions at home and at work.

Time Off Programs

  • Personal time off (PTO): New employees accrue 15 days of PTO during the first full year of employment. After five years of service, an additional day is accrued for each year through 15 years of service, to a total of 25 days' accrual.
  • Holidays: Eight paid holidays per year (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and one floating holiday used at the employee-owner's discretion).
  • Bereavement: In the event of a death in an employee-owner's immediate family, three days of paid leave will be provided to handle matters related to death and grieving.

Wellness Programs

  • Health Screenings: These events help employee-owners identify, monitor and learn about key health issues.
  • Educational Seminars: Topics include ergnomics, weight management, cancer awareness and work-life balance.
  • Fitness: We offer an on-site fitness center at the world headquarters, with corporate discounts available at commercial centers nationwide.
